[LSF-Announce] This Week at Refuge

Hey All,

Last Wednesday was All Saint's Day, the day in which we remember those
Christians who have passed away before us.  For me, that person was my
grandpa.  He was always strong and tough, yet he had such a tender heart
under all the gruffness.  He could fix anything, and he could make
anything. He made the long table in the Refuge lounge, actually. I miss him,
especially when things are rough, and soon another Thanksgiving will remind
my family of what a hole his absence leaves. But this is part of God's
mercy.  In His infinite wisdom and love, He has no intention of separating
us from those we love.  So if, as the holidays approach, you're beginning to
miss someone, maybe starting to think that your Thanksgiving or Christmas
isn't going to be what you want it to be, remember that.  Someday, we will
see our loved ones again.  And God knows you miss them.  Somehow, knowing
that helps a lot.

So, on to business! Here's what's happening this week at Refuge:

Monday: lounge hours, 6:00-10:00 pm

Tuesday: Pastor-led Bible study on Luke, 9:00 in the lounge

Wednesday:  Discussion group at 9:00 in the lounge

Thursday: Women's Bible Study, meet at the church at 7:00, and from there
we'll head to an undisclosed location that has coffee. COFFEE! YAY!

Sunday: worship at 8:00 amd 10:30, with pancakes in the lounge following the
10:30 service

OK, do I have your attention now? Refuge is hosting our annual Thanksgiving
dinner at the church on Sunday, Nov. 19.  We'll be doing the preparation
work on Saturday, beginning at 9:00 am or thereabouts and staying until we
finish! We'll order pizza for lunch to break up the time a bit:-) This is a
major event, so any way you could help would be appreciated, even just an
hour or so.  Mark your calendar, and watch future emailings and facebook
messages (and the lounge) for more info and a signup sheet.


Have a fantastic week.  We're almost done with this semester! Sort of!
