[Lsf-announce] This Week at Refuge

Hey All,

I don't know about you all, but I go through the "What am I doing with
my life?" thing CONSTANTLY, and it scares me.  I'm too young to be
figuring out the rest of my life! I don't know anything about
anything! But God promises to go with us and to guide us.  If we are
seeking His glory, He isn't going to leave us to mess up our lives.
He will use us in ways we never imagined, and even our "mistakes" will
have a purpose, though that purpose may be very different from the one
we imagined.  So chill out, and just take things one semester at a
time, trusting God to guide you to where you should be, and trusting
Him to increase your faith as you stay rooted in the Word and in
prayer. And be prepared for the amazing things He has in store for
you.


So....on to business. Here's what's happening this week at Refuge:

TONIGHT: Walleyball! Meet at the church at 5:45, and we'll head to the
rec from there.

Sat, Oct. 7: Clean-Up day at the DeKalb Area Women's Center.  Meet at
the church at 9:45, and the clean-up lasts from 10:00-3:00.  If you
can make part but not all, or if you need directions so you can meet
us there, email Jenna at jwright at niu.edu.

Sun, Oct. 8: Worship at 8:00 and 10:30.  Pancake breakfast in the
lounge following the 10:30 service, and our intramural football team
is playing around noon, so we'd love your support!

Monday, Oct. 9: Lounge open, 6:00-10:00 (Intramural V-Ball game at
8:30 at the Chick Evans Field House. Come support us!)

Tues, Oct. 10: Pastor-led Bible study on Luke, 9:00

Wed, Oct. 11: Discussion group led by Landon on relationships--with
God, with each other, with your significant other, whatever!--9:00.

Thurs, Oct. 12: Women's Bible study. Time and place will depend on
whether or not the V-Ball team wins on Mon. and plays tonight. Check
email and facebook for updates.

Fri, Oct. 13: HAUNTED CORN MAZE! Meet at the church at 7:00, and we'll
head over together. Is there a better way to spend Friday the 13th? I
think not!


Upcoming Events:

Oct. 20--Tentative bingo night with the residents at Oakcrest retirement home.
Oct. 21--Homecoming parade is at 9:00 am, and Immanuel will have a
float, so come on down and cheer us on!
Oct. 27--HALLOWEEN PARTY. Come in costume, or we'll kick you out. (not
really, but it's fun to threaten)
