[LSF-Announce] Greetings from the spring break team!

Hey all, greetings from the depths of the bayou! if you look on a map
we are in a town south of Houma called chauvin, there isn't much
sounth of here! people here not only are still trying to dig out from
hurricane problems but also trying to deal with very serious land loss
issues. we spent the day scraping and painting a recreaction center
for children to come and have "off the street" activites in. It
reminded me of Haish gym in DeKalb. we'll be working on that a couple
of more days. We have been meeting the people and they are still
pretty "down" about life. They feel that the government abandon them
in thier time of need (FEMA on the national level and thier own parish
goverment on the local level.) whether that is true or not I cannot
say, but it is still a daily topic of conversation for the locals.
Our goal is to simply be a loving presence and perhaps just by being
here we can make a difference. There is no duobt God is at work here,
and there is need for the kind of hope only he can bring.

we're getting a gourmet cajun meal tommorrow (Gumbo) I haven't told
every body what that is yet, so keep the surprise for me :).
