Hey All,

If you're like me, you're probably glad school starts again because you miss
your friends, but not so sure about the whole homework thing. Something
about that warmer weather makes us want to ditch the tests and papers and
play some volleyball, frisbee, wander the streets aimlessly while
procrastinating--anything but school! But, as Paul reminds us, "So whether
you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."(I
Corinthians 10:31). Some of the new Christians were having difficulty
eating meat sacrificed to idols, and Paul says that eating the meat was
okay, but not if it was going to cause someone else to stumble in his faith.
So he reminds us that whether we eat or don't drink, our goal in doing
either is not to gratify ourselves but to glorify God. So whether studying
or playing frisbee, remember that our time on earth is not to enjoy
ourselves but to glorify God.

So, down to business. Here's what's going on this week at Refuge. The
biggie this week is the Lenten Dinner!!!!!!! Which is why it's in huge font.
Every year, Refuge holds a dinner for the church on a Wednesday during Lent,
before the Lenten service. This week's is THIS WEDNESDAY!!!!! We're serving
breakfast at dinner (very, very yummy), dinner is at 5:00-6:15ish, but we'll
be prepping from 3:00 on, so come on over if you can help out. We'll put
you to work doing dishes or making casseroles or something like that. If
you're around tomorrow before Bible study at all, we'll be preparing our
breakfast casseroles at 8:00. So COME!

Tuesday, March 20: Pastor-led Bible study on Luke at 9:00. Preparing Lenten
dinner casseroles at 8:00. COME HELP US! WE DESPERATELY NEED YOU!

Wednesday, March 21: Lenten dinner preparation begins at 3:00. Dinner is at
5:00-6:15. And we need help with cleanup afterwards, too, so come on over
for that if you can't be around earlier. PLEASE!
Women's Bible study meets at 8:00 at the church and heads to an undisclosed
location from there. Men meet at 8:00 and stay at the church, because
they're boring and unoriginal like that.

Thursday, March 22: Bible study on Revelation at 9:00. If Left Behind
intrigued you and left you thirsting for more, Jenna and Mitch have answers.
Or at least, more questions for you to consider.

Sunday, March 25: Worship at 8:00 and 10:30. Pancakes in the lounge
following the 10:30 service.

Okay, I think that's it. Good luck with being back at school. Summer is
coming.

God Bless,
Nikki
